There are people who’ve said that I’m being brave for being openly supportive of gay marriage, gay adoption… With all due respect, I humbly dissent. I am not being brave, I’m a decent human being… Love is a human experience, not a political statement.
Elizabeth Bennet: Maybe, because you’re good-looking, you’re used to getting away with things. But, I want you to know that your actions have an effect on others, and you are a horrible person, and you not understanding you’re a horrible person doesn’t make you less of a horrible person.
“This relationship between Claire and Jamie is what is really at the heart of this show. This show has so many elements but what binds it all together is this incredible love story between Claire and Jamie: it’s beyond time, it’s beyond place, it’s metaphysical and I think so much of it is… this is the aspirational love story that we all want. It doesn’t matter even if two hundreds years separate you, you will find each other and it’s that connection of souls but what I think Claire loves about Jamie so much and when she first meets him is that emotional intelligence he has and he’s so kind, he’s a man of his word and he’s thoughtful, and for Claire he just brings this part of her alive and she just thrives in that kind of atmosphere.”
